As a small boy

I stood beneath the giant globe at the old New York World's Fair, amazed by the wonders all around me. So I guess it makes sense that I'd grow up to be an aerospace engineer, and then find a way to measure the Earth.

Along the way, I've also created lots of offbeat experiments for science magazines. From building a working computer using egg cartons, to performing DNA experiments with gumdrops.

From our little backyard and during family trips, we've girdled the globe countless times, working to make our system better.
